INFRARED TOUCH TECHNOLOGY: WHAT IS IT?
In order to detect interaction, infrared touch technology creates a dense, uniform grid of invisible (to the unaided eye) LED lights and sensors. Every time a user touches the screen, the lights and sensors built in the touch frame’s bezel report a disturbance, indicating the user’s point of contact on the screen. Because the touch is recognised by disrupting the pattern of light rather than by making physical contact with the screen, infrared technology has the advantage that the user need not actually touch the screen itself.
